You know that I Love Lucy episode with Lucy and Ethel working at the chocolate factory and the chocolates keep coming faster and faster...and Lucy starts cramming them in her mouth? Well, that just about sums up how I feel right now. Next week, our house is all being packed, loaded on the truck, and moved. And I can think of a million things I haven't done yet that need to be done.
With that said, of course I was running late getting Isaac to school this morning. Following is an edited version of what happened. (There were actually about 120 more questions.)
Isaac: Why are we parking here?
That policeman wants to have a little talk with me.
Isaac: What's he wanna talk about?
How Mama was driving a little too fast.
Isaac: Why were you driving a little too fast?
I dunno. I just was.
(Pause while officer gets my info and takes it to his car.)
Isaac: Why did the policeman take that stuff?
He needs to write down my information.
Isaac: Does he need my information, too?
No. Just Mama's.
Isaac: Is he gonna shoot us?
No, of course not.
Isaac: Policemen shoot bad guys.
Well, we're not bad guys. He's just gonna give me a ticket.
Isaac: A ticket to jail?
No. I'm not going to jail. He's just gonna give me a speeding ticket and I'll have to give him money because I was driving too fast.
Isaac: Is he gonna take my money, too?
No. You weren't doing anything wrong.
Isaac: Were you doing something wrong?
Sort of.
Isaac: Is he gonna put you in time-out?
I wish.
Isaac: You like time-out?
No, but it'd be better than a ticket.
Isaac: Can I take your ticket for show & tell?
No, you can't take my ticket to show & tell. Why don't you just eat your pop tart?

At least you got to show off your New Jersey drivers license that it took you 2 years to get!
I laughed until I cried when I read that conversation...then I read it to Mack and laughed some more. How precious and honest little ones are. Hope your move goes well.
Oh I get such a good laugh out of Isaac's dialog. Too funny. I look forward to more of your adventures! I hope you're all settling in well.
