Funny Kids

(Conversation with Isaac about seagulls)

Isaac: Why are they called "seagulls"?

Me: Because they live by the sea.

Isaac (who is consumed by learning his alphabet right now): Are eagles called that 'cause they live by an "E"?

Get it? "C"-gulls and "E"- gulls.

(Conversation with Katherine and 2 friends in the back seat as I'm driving)

Friend #1: When is your birthday?

Katherine: November 17.

Friend #2: Oh, you're "such a terrorist".

Get it? Sagittarius.

Dismissed

This has been a long week, and I'm so ready for it to be over. I won't go into all the crummy details, but instead I'll share something that really made me laugh.

A few minutes ago, as Isaac was on the floor playing, I leaned over to give him a hug. He said, "Okay, Mom, you can hug me for ONE minute, but you need to move along now."

Welcome 2010!

As usual, December was a whirlwind! And so far, January has been crazy as well. We arrived home from our 2300 mile road trip Sunday night, the kids and Scott had school/work Monday morning, and Scott just left on a trip out of the country to Belgium that was sprung on him just two days ago. My Christmas tree, which is still in the living room, is so dry that ornaments are falling off of it, but Scott will not allow me to put the Christmas stuff away because I don't "know the system". But we are safe, healthy and happy. And that's a good thing!

The pictures show just a few glimpses of moments spent with family in Alabama. It was a special time with lots of laughing, catching up, game playing, marshmallow roasting, 4 wheel and gator riding, pick up truck driving, peacock drama, singing, eating, and making many lifetime memories!

The Things They Say

I just walked in from picking up Isaac from preschool. I've been gone all morning, so I sat down to check the headlines. (I know, it's sad that Yahoo is my primary source of news.)

Isaac, sitting in my lap and looking at the keyboard, asked, "What's this big button?'

"That's the space bar."

"If I push it, will it shoot me out into space?"

I'm really gonna miss these preschool years!

Roll Tide!!!

Alabama 32 Florida 13

Was that some game or what? We watched it at Brian and Stacye's house. It's funny how we moved to New Jersey and met some great friends who love the Crimson Tide as much as we do!

I felt kind of sorry to see Tebow crying. Of course, he made me cry last year, so I guess we're even.

Roll Tide!!!
